Narrative Statement

Consolidation and economics seem to have contributed to a fall-off in interest in radio careers in our area.  There are far fewer jobs.   Young people also seem more interested in television and other media.  Further, we have had only two full-time openings filled since October, 2000.  One in 2013 for an office assistant.

We have concentrated our efforts on youth organizations, schools and the local community college in an effort to develop interest in broadcasting careers.

We will conduct an internship this year with the local community college similar to others with the college, individuals and the local board of cooperative services (BOCES).

We will continue to evaluate our outreach efforts particularly with young people.
